Based on search conducted in TKDL database the Examiner concluded:
“Objections:
The subject matter of claims does not constitute an invention u/s 2(1) (j) of the Patents Act, 1970, as the claim 1 is not new and claims 1 to 9 do not involve inventive step in view of the disclosures in following prior published document:

D1 discloses the therapeutic composition/formulation comprising Terminalia chebula as one of the ingredient for the treatment of inflammation and arthritis. Therefore, claim 1 is not new. Also, the person skilled in the art can obviously combine this with any other herbs as used in the present invention herbal composition for treatment of those diseases. Therefore, the composition claimed in claims 2 to 8 and process claimed in claim 9 is lacking in inventive step.”
