USPTO Patent Examiner(s) took cognizance of TKDL references. Extract of examination report are reproduced below:
“Claims 1-12, 15 and 32 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 (a) as being unpatentable over majeed et al. (US 2005/0123559) in view of Ponnapalli et al. (2005/0220913 A1) and Visvabharati, C, 2000, as evidenced by Sailer et al. – ACETYL-11-KETO-BETA-BOSWELLIC ACID (AKBA): STRUCUTRE REQUIREMENTS FOR BINDING AND 5- LIPOXYGENEASE INHIBITORY ACTIVITY; Br.J. Pharmacol., 1996, February, 117(4) abstract.*
Additionally, Aegle marmelos and boswelia seratta (which intrinsically possesses boswellic acid such as AKBA) are present in a single formulation in traditional medicine for treatment of dermatitis and eczema (see Visvabharati, C, 2000, TKDL translation). Hence, the presence of both of these plants was found advantageous in traditional Indian medicine for treatment of skin conditions such as eczema.

2. Outcomes of Examination Report.
As the outcome of TKDL references and other documents cited in examination report, the Applicant Manish Saxena, New Delhi, India amended the claims on 5th march 2012.
